Important Announcement – York Racecourse Wedding Show Postponed

It is with great regret that we have today announced the postponement of The UK Wedding Event at York Racecourse scheduled to take place on Sunday 29th March.
Following consultation with our show venue hosts York Racecourse and in accordance with the latest government and medical advice, we have been left with little option but to call off our flagship event.
The UK Wedding Event managing director Rob O’Neill said: “We have been doing everything within our power to stage the show as planned, but in light of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, this course of action simply hasn’t been possible.
“I personally hate admitting defeat in anything and I can assure you that the last few days have been extremely stressful, listening to all viewpoints and weighing up every option open to us.
“The events and hospitality industry is undoubtedly in for a tough few months as we attempt to steer through a challenging period and the last thing we wanted to do was to cancel, so I can totally understand people’s disappointment.
“Over the years, our show at York Racecourse has become one of Yorkshire’s best attended wedding events and despite the outbreak of COVID-19, demand for tickets this week has actually been very good with over 60 snapped up on Monday alone.
“However, as responsible business owners we must put the health, safety and well-being of our show visitors, exhibitors and team members first, and support the recommendations of York Racecourse.”
Anyone who has paid for e-tickets to attend the show will be offered a full refund or their booking will be valid for later in the year for our big show back at York Racecourse on Sunday 18th October.
Stand holders will also have the chance to swap over to the autumn event or other shows organised by The UK Wedding Event.
A further announcement will be issued shortly with information on our plans throughout April and May.
