How long is your to-do list?

Greetings, Thanks once again for taking time to read The UK Wedding Event’s blog. It’s been a while since I have found a quiet moment to pen a few words of wisdom on our blog page, but at last the wait is over!

A lot has changed since our last big wedding fayre at York Racecourse in March, including the launch of our new website.

We have also hosted a brand new intimate wedding fayre at The Crown Hotel Harrogate as part of our ongoing expansion.

Generally speaking we organise larger ‘event’ type wedding fayres, but following an approach from The Crown, we agreed to offer our services to put on a show for them and what a great day it turned out to be.

The event on Sunday 12th July really was a great success, with over 250 visitors passing through the doors for one of the hotel’s biggest ever attended wedding fayre.

Of the back of such a brilliant turnout, it was therefore a no brainer to do it again, and that’s exactly what we are doing on Sunday 11th October 2015. We have even had to add another room, as all the stands were filled within weeks of being advertised and already a third date at The Crown Hotel on Valentine’s Day is well on the way to being filled up.

Admission to any of these Harrogate shows are free, with brides who pre-register for tickets, going into a prize draw for the chance to win a meal for two at the hotel or an overnight stay.

We are also counting down to our return visit to York Racecourse on Sunday 25th October for another bumper event, that is going from strength to strength with around 1000 visitors expected and up to 100 exhibitors.

And if that wasn’t enough, we have added a new date and venue to our diary, with another huge show lined-up at New Dock Hall at the Royal Armouries in Leeds on Sunday 1st November.

I must say we are super excited about this wedding fayre which will be similar in size to York Racecourse, and judging by the number of pre-booked tickets sold the feeling is shared by you too.

As I mentioned previously, we have gone live in the last few weeks with a brand new website which makes it easier than ever before to buy tickets and to sign-up for exhibition stands, with sums even being done for you!

I must admit getting to this point hasn’t been all plain sailing, with a number of technical delays to the launch and then having to get a few gremlins ironed out. Fingers crossed these problems are now behind us, but if you are planning your wedding and are starting to feel a little stressed out with all the things you still have to do, we can certainly relate. The last thing you need is a boat load of unexpected issues, that is where time management and allocating duties between the pair of you is key. You may have a to-do-list as long as your arm, and trust me with all of these extra shows, I know the feeling!

However, it’s so important to take a step back sometimes and not let trivial issues distract you from what really matters. Until my next Jerry Springer moment, take care of yourself and each other!
